As reported earlier MQM Senator Declined to Pay Tax Increase on International Calls. The notification from the government for tax increase on inbound worldwide calls has been suspended by The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday, reported The Nation.
Ijazul Hasan heard the case at the LHC. The petitioner’s counsel advised the court that the new tax enforced on inbound worldwide phone calls triggered serious issue among offshore Pakistanis and requested the court to limit the govt from applying the tax.
The bench pointed out that the govt constantly came up with new taxation which was leading to more issues for the individuals. The bench included that the legal courts would avoid the government’s injustices against the individuals.
Moreover, the court instructed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to file a response on the matter in the first week of Nov.
