Malala for Education Fund - LUMS to Honor Malala's Mission

The students at The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and the University is launching a fund-raising activity to create a ‘Malala for Education Fund’ at LUMS to support the educational mission of the young revolutionary girl. The University and its students come together in outrage at the dreadful brutal attempt on Malala Yousafzai 14-year-old peace and education activist. LUMS has announced today, October 11, 2012, Malala Day at LUMS by wearing black arm-bands to condemn the attack on her.

The main purpose of the fund-raising will be to provision education for girls in Swat and neighboring regions and her mission to provide quality education to all Pakistanis. Students at LUMS look forward to get together with the aim to help her bring about her mission through this fund. 

LUMS claims that it has been providing financial assistance through their National Outreach Programme (NOP) to such students for almost a decade.

By doing this , University and its students awards and facilitates the royal cause of the 14-year-old for which she also received national and international identification. She kept a journal for the English Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and had written about her encourage for education and what it meant being limited, when the Taliban had prohibited education for females in her region.

LUMS appeals to all to donate to Malala for Education Fund set up for the bright girls. LUMS students, faculty and staff can also donate directly through MCB Booth at LUMS by writing "Malala for Education Fund" along with the amount. Also, student societies will be collecting the funds.
