Nokia today announced the Nokia Lumia 625, an accessibly priced 4G smartphone to help people see more of what they love. The Nokia Lumia 625 delivers high-speed entertainment to a wide audience with a large 4.7-inch super-sensitive LCD screen and 4G Internet access.

Building on the award winning Nokia Lumia design, the Nokia Lumia 625 includes five brightly coloured changeable shells, which add to the Live Tile personalization brought by Windows Phone 8.


The Nokia Lumia 625 also provides many innovations found in the recently announced flagship Nokia Lumia 1020. These include a range of integrated camera applications like Nokia Smart Camera, offering handy features like removing unwanted objects from pictures, and Nokia Cinema graph, which turns photos into living memories with added movement.

Windows Phone 8 also includes Xbox Live, Microsoft Office, and 7GB of online SkyDrive storage to simply make life easier.

With access to more than 165,000 apps including Vimeo, Temple Run and WhatsApp, the Nokia Lumia 625 offers faster mobile fun, as well as safer surfing with Internet Explorer 10 - making it ideal for viewing videos, games, and other content. The Nokia Lumia 625 also offers SD memory card support, allowing up to 64GB of additional content storage.


Nokia Music provides unlimited streaming of ad-free mixes without registration or subscription, plus the ability to download mixes for listening offline with the Nokia Lumia 625. Nokia has also teamed with Coloud(TM) to create BOOM(TM) headphones that combine audio prowess with excellent value, and integrated microphone and buttons for voice calls and music control.


With its big screen and super-fast connectivity, the Nokia Lumia 625 offers leading maps and location experiences from HERE, providing free maps, turn-by-turn navigation and public transport guidance.


The Nokia Lumia 625 will be available in a range of colours including orange, yellow, bright green, white and black with an array of changeable shells enabling easy personalization. With an estimated retail price of 220 Euros before taxes and subsidies, the Nokia Lumia 625 is planned to begin selling in China, Europe, Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, Africa and Latin America in Q3 2013.

PTCL Deploys Performance Monitoring System from Suntech

Suntech S.A., a telecommunications solutions provider, has successfully implemented its
SunVizion Network Performance Monitoring system at Pakistan Telecommunication
Company Limited (PTCL).

SunVizion Network Performance Monitoring developed by Suntech will perform the
monitoring of PTCL’s huge and complex multi-technology telecommunications
networks enabling to quickly detect any performance degradation. The system supports areas of Fault Management and Revenue Assurance providing a flexible network intelligence for Network Operation Centers, capacity planners, revenue controllers and executives.

“Suntech’s solution has helped us with increased visibility of our network performance,” says Kamran Sharif, head of NOC at PTCL. “The near real time processing of signaling has helped us diagnose and resolve network problems briskly and we have been able to deliver superior experience to our customers. Furthermore, the developed KPIs have also helped us identify grey traffic injections and through this we have ensured its blockage.”

“Implementation at PTCL is very important for us,” says Wojciech Franczak, Sales Manager of Suntech S.A. “This is our first project in Pakistan and since 2012 we have put our focus on this region of Asia. To successfully compete on this market you have to have a world-class product for reasonable price, and you have to be fast. Warid Telecom and Edhi foundation arrange Iftar for underprivileged

Warid Telecom, leading innovator in Pakistan’s telecom industry, has collaborated with the Edhi Foundation to share the blessings of Ramzan with fellow Pakistanis. Warid Telecom has sponsored iftaris to be held at Edhi homes for approximately 6000 people during the month of Ramzan.

Commenting on the collaboration Warid Telecom’s Senior Manager Marketing, Mr. Shahab Hafeez said, “We at Warid believe that it is our duty to provide for the underprivileged members of our society. During this blessed month we would like to do as much as we can for our fellow Pakistanis and that is why we have collaborated with Edhi foundation for this initiative.”

Zoom, Reinvented, Nokia Lumia 1020 arrives



Today, Nokia established a new benchmarkin smartphone imaging with the arrival of the Nokia Lumia 1020, boasting a second generation 41 megapixel sensor. Hipstamaticshowcased Oggl PRO, an exclusive application for the Nokia Lumia 1020 offering the most advanced smartphone camera controls for their creative community. It was also announced that popular applications Path and Flip board will soon be available on Windows Phone.

Adding further professional capabilities and additional battery life, Nokia announced the new Nokia Camera Grip. This is an accessory that complements device features usually reserved for stand-alone cameras, like the Nokia Lumia 1020’s built-in xenon flash and mechanical shutter. The Nokia Camera Grip also has a tripod mount.

The personal nature of Windows Phone makes it the perfect platform for the Nokia Lumia 1020, showcasing live images on the Start screen with the Photos tile, quick sharing to social networks, and easy access to files across a number of devices with SkyDrive. With the dedicated camera button, Windows Phone is designed with imaging in mind.

To help people see what’s around them and discover new places to take photos, the latest developments in Live Sight will be available in HERE Maps soon. The Nokia Lumia 1020 also comes with ad and subscription free Nokia Music streaming.

Dell and Intel Pakistan have jointly launched their latest experiential marketing centre in Karachi. The centre, called the Experience Center, is the second such location opened by the international computer giants in Pakistan. The first
Experience Center opened in Lahore on 13th April 2012 to considerable acclaim as the first experiential computing centre in Pakistan.
