Suggestions for ProPakistani and EconomyAge - User Reviews

Tuesday, October 09, 2012

I hope many of you already know about ProPakistani blog which remains intact on providing great web experience to its visitors. No doubt Aamir Atta (owner of blog ProPakistani.Pk) has a great vision and he is working vigilantly for bringing the latest stories to many Pakistani readers. I have been observing it since a year now and I am very much inspired by his style of working. He has created a whole new world for Pakistani webmasters, businesses, freelancers and home internet users who always keep visiting this blog for learning something new.

However I wanted to highlight some issues related to ProPakistani.Pk and economyage.com blogs with the intention that they may fix these issues for better user experience. I subscribed for the text messages for sms alerts couple of weeks ago to stay updated about the latest happenings on the blog. If you are visitor of this blog, I hope you already know about this service which is launched and Aamir Atta is also advertising about it on his site since its launch.
What I wanted to highlight about this service is that I have not received any text messages since my subscription, and last night suddenly three messages reached my inbox in one go at 11 PM. So my question to admin is that what is the purpose of all the advertisements, if you end up sending messages in one go at night instead of sending messages when they are mostly needed in the day time. I think messages should be delivered at the time when article is published. So that service could be delivered as promised on ProPakistani.Pk

I recently visited www.economyage.com and I found that on the contact us page they have limited information and there is a keep reading link for more details. I thought that this should not happen on contact us page because posts with "post summaries" only look appealing on home page. Moreover when I clicked the "keep reading" link nothing happened which needs a fix. I wanted to inform the same to admin of the blog by sending him following screenshot.

I wish to highlight that they have a contact page for its readers but unfortunately there is not any contact form or even an any email address written on the website so that visitors can contact the admin if or when needed. by tricking my mind I thought that most of the websites have their email addresses as info@domain.com so in this case I sent email to info@economyage.com but I was kicked off with a failure message that mentioned email address does not exist. Then I also tried to send email to one of its main editor nabila@economyage.com but was served with the same kind of message.

These kind of issues with professional blogs really disturb the visitors like me. I wish this info reach both of these admins so that they can get these issues fixed and give users friendly web experience.

    1. You are right but messages could also have been delivered late due to bulk activity done by the admin and bulk activities deliveries get late not a big deal. The purpose of the post is to realize them how users react on this.

    2. It also depends on what operator they are using to send messages and it could be the fault of the operator and not the admin of ProPK

    3. Mahfooz regardless of the late delivery issues message should be sent when articles are published. I agree with you on this point!

  8. Mahfooz Ahmad, you have got this wonderful web blog. Congratulations. I visited it only today and I have already subscribed to RSS feeds.

About the issues you mentioned, are valid. They must get fixed. In fact, this SMS thing was somehow flawed and is fixed already. You won't get any messages during odd hours again. Rather, this was the only instance when messages were sent out during after office hours. But let me assure you this won't happen again.

We will work on Economy Age as well, to get its face better than what it is now.

Thanks again for sparing time and pointing this out.

  14. Here is Googles landing page requirements for google adsesne:

Landing page experience refers to how good we think someone's experience will be when they get to your landing page (the web page they end up on after clicking your ad). You can improve your landing page experience – and Quality Score – by focusing on three things: relevant and original content, transparency, and ease of navigation.

Many things can affect your landing page experience. For example, is your landing page relevant to what a visitor is looking for? Is it easy to find your contact information? Is the page itself easy to navigate? Your landing page experience affects not only your Quality Score, but also your advertising costs and ad position.

economyage really needs attention to this issue

  15. I thought my account will be approved but this is what i got in email:

As mentioned in our welcome email, we continue to review your AdSense
application once AdSense code is placed on your sites. As a result of this
review, we have disapproved your account for the following violation(s).

    Issues:

    - Insufficient content

    ---------------------

    Further detail:

Insufficient content: To be considered for AdSense, your site must contain
enough text content for our specialists to review and for our crawlers to
identify relevant ads to show on your pages. We recommend including more
complete sentences and paragraphs on your site. We require websites to be
fully launched and functioning, allowing users to navigate throughout your
site with a menu, sitemap, or appropriate links. Once the majority of your
site is complete and functional, we'll be happy to reconsider your
    application.

Please note that AdSense for domains or AdSense for domains online are
available to publishers already owning an approved AdSense account.

    1. Hello

I first tried to submit a 150 page plus site of original written content but had not produced a sitemap or verified it on the Adsense Account - So as you can see I messed it up.

You really need to work hard for your site considering google adsense policies

      Delete
    2. As you can imagine my request for adsense was refused. (all my site is in real good taste - no sleeze or scams) - it just was not finding all the 150 pages plus of written content as it came back saying lack of written content.

  16. You are right John but I am still of the view Google cheats because these insight should have been shared by Google instead of just telling whats wrong with it they should also guide publishers what to do
