Skype social media platforms hacked by 'Syrian Electronic Army'

The social media platforms of Skype have been hacked by a group claiming to be the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA), the group claimed that Microsoft, the owner of Skype is monitoring your accounts and selling the data to the governments and by posting anti-surveillance messages telling people not to use email services of Microsoft.

The reason of hack is recent revelations about surveillance programmes being run by US intelligence agencies. the group has also attacked various other media companies, including the BBC, CNN and the Guardian.

The hackers posted on Skype's Twitter account and its blog the following message.

"Don't use Microsoft emails (hotmail, outlook). They are monitoring your accounts and selling the data to the governments,"

The post has since been removed.

Skype has confirmed that it had been hacked but said that "no user information was compromised".

The Syrian Electronic Army (SEA), which says it supports President Bashar al-Assad, has been behind recent hack attacks on the New York Times and Twitter.

Bangladesh Cable Operators Demand Ban on Pakistani TV Channels

JI leader Abdul Quader Molla’s hanging and rising tension between the two countries may face ban on all Pakistani television channels by a body of cable operators in Bangladesh to deprive Bangladeshi's of Pakistani television.

The Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (Coab), threatened on Thursday to off-air all Pakistani television channels in Bangladesh, reported Thedailystar.net 

If the ban is imposed, Pakistani investors in Bangladesh will face uncertainty and this would result in complete breakdown in fast deteriorating ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s commerce secretary took the youth in confidence by saying that higher authorities have been conveyed the demand for suspending trade relations with Pakistan. He was also quoted as saying “We will decide in a day or two about the participation of Pakistani stalls in the trade fair”.

I have been trying to add a comment on the post and it just went non responsive and then got up and went down again.

It merits mentioning here that at the moment there is not any heavy traffic on the site but assuming that there is, it was behaving the same way in early morning assuring there is less traffic on Tribune.

Discover on twitter.com helps find popular and trending topics among friends and family in a simple stream of Tweets. To see a continuous stream of news, photos and other stories shared by the people, you can just tap “View all Tweets”.

In search, photos from relevant results will appear at the top of the stream to see what is happening from multiple perspectives.

Twitter added three new elements in search: view photos and videos first, see headlines and photos, and understand context.

People share stories on Twitter through photos and videos. The updated app now opens a grid of the most relevant media above the stream of Tweets when searching for a person, an event or a hashtag.

Media instantly appearas in search results stream on an iPhone or Android device. Photos and article summaries automatically show previews on what is happening.

Twitter users can now see context like who favorited or retweeted right there in the Tweet.

These search results are now available on twitter.com and Twitter’s updated mobile apps for iPhone and Android.

Anonymous Delete Foreign Ministry Database, Hack Hundreds of Israeli Websites in Support of Gaza

Israeli media confirmed the Hacker group Anonymous’s move that protesting against Operation Pillar of Defense in Gaza, it has launched a huge attack (named #OpIsrael) reportedly taking down almost 700 Israeli websites ranging from high-profile governmental structures such as the Foreign Ministry to local tourism companies’ pages.

Mashav, the biggest attack as of now has been the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s international development program. Anonymous announced on Twitter they’ve hacked into the program’s database, with the website remaining inaccessible at the moment.

“There is [sic] so many defaced Israeli websites right now, that we just made a list of them,” Anonymous tweeted.

The Jerusalem Post has confirmed the group’s assault, including the attack on the Foreign Ministry’s website, as well as those of Kadima party, Bank of Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv Municipality. The latter is online as of now. Among other functions, it provides residents with directions to bomb shelters. Meanwhile, the majority of the web pages that were taken down were blank, but some showed pro-Palestinian images and messages, Jerusalem Post reported.

What was the reason for Anonymous’s assault

Amid the conflict, which has already claimed at least 33 lives, 30 of them Palestinians, Anonymous also pledged to help those who are at the heart of the conflict: many Palestinians were left without electricity, and consequently, without internet access. The hackers gave instructions on their Twitter account for residents to get reconnected: “If you have friends in Gaza who still have phone, but need internet, give them these dial-up numbers and instructions: http://pastebin.com/6dYQruHu.”

Anonymous put together a “Gaza Care Package,” which contains instructions in Arabic and English to assist Palestinians in the event that the Israeli government cuts their internet connection. Plus, the package includes information on evading IDF surveillance, along with first aid information. The collective encouraged Palestinians to download and share the package with others.
Anonymous members also contacted Israeli forces directly. A tweet from an Anonymous account to an IDF spokesperson warned, “It would be wise of you to expect us”, while a statement on their webpage said, “Stop bombing Gaza. Millions of Israelis and Palestinians are lying awake, exposed and terrified.”

YouTube will Open Within 20 Days in Pakistan: PTA

YouTube ban will be removed in Pakistan within 15 to 20 days.

Video sharing website Youtube would be opened in Pakistan in few days, Farooq Awan chairman of Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA)  just stated during a media briefing.

As mentioned previously that Suspension of Youtube website in Pakistan is considered to be removed, Awan added that talks were underway with Google the company which owns Youtube to block blasphemous content.

Youtube was banned in Pakistan in September following widespread outrage over the anti-Islam film.

The PTA chairman also said that from December 1, only five SIMs could be issued on an individual’s CNIC. SIMS would also be issued from the franchise of mobile company stores, Awan added.

Aakash - World’s Cheapest Tablet Launched by India

On sale to students at the subsidized price of $20, India has launched a new version of its ultra-low-cost tablet computer with a quicker processor and an improved battery, reported DAWN today. 

The country has nearly 115 million Internet users, giving it the third-largest number in the world after China and the United States, but low penetration rates, data from the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IMAI) shows.

Datawind says the commercial sale price without subsidies for Aakash 2 is 3,500 rupees (64 dollars).

The first 100,000 devices will be sold to students at engineering colleges and universities at a subsidized price of 1,130 rupees (20 dollars) and subsequently Aakash 2 will be distributed to book stores in Indian universities.

The Aakash tablet, dubbed the world's cheapest computer, has been developed as a public-private partnership aimed at making computing technology available to students in a country where Internet usage is only at around 10 percent.

Makers of the tablet, Britain-based Datawind, say the Aakash 2 is powered by a processor that runs three times faster than the original, has a bigger touchscreen and a battery with a life of three hours.

The first version of the Aakash was launched by the government in October last year but it was marred by problems including a short battery life, initial long waiting lists and difficulties with distribution.

The paperback-book-sized Aakash 2, developed by Indian engineers at elite IIT public universities, runs the Google operating system Android 4.0 and has a screen measuring seven inches (18 centimeters) wide. 

"Unlike the previous version which was a non-starter, this time around there are some functions and features around the Android tablet which make it a decent computing device for that price," stated pluggd.in, an Indian website that analyses gadgets.

Over 15,000 teachers at 250 colleges have been trained on the use of Aakash for education, according to India's human resource development ministry.

Government Likely to Open Access to YouTube in Pakistan

For those of you who are sick of YouTube ban, would appreciate govt concerns over lifting ban from YouTube in Pakistan.

As reported earlier The Blockage of The Entire YouTube Website on protests and pressure from Muslim community in Pakistan due to the anti-Islam film, on orders of PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, the Federal Minister for Information Technology ordered PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority). 

We have been hearing news from different sources which were not giving any hopes of opening YouTube in near future. But I have just heard from reliable resources in ISP's that government is now likely to open YouTube and ban will be removed but only with the blockage of blasphemous material.

It merits mentioning here that YouTube is a source of education and also provides material related to teachings of Islam. As per a user of this blog "Banning Youtube was not a good idea" who commented on my blog on an article Monitoring of Pakistani E-mails, Phone Telephone calls as follows:

They should have banned the CONTENT only. Why am I not supporting the ban on Youtube is because I think it's the only website in the world with unfathomable data on ISLAM. I used to watch some great Islamic videos on it but now I can't. I used to answer to so many of those Atheists and anti-religion people on YouTube when they uploaded something against Islam. But now I can't. Good going PTA and the bloody government.

We have also seen a message about removing access from YouTube from The Interior Minister, Rehman Malik who has posted a tweet on his twitter account mentioning that he will talk to the government regarding the importance of YouTube which no doubt is wealth of knowledge, keeping in mind that it hurted the feelings of all Muslims. He promised to raise the issue in cabinet to open access on YouTube with the removal of Anti-Islam material.

Mubasher Lucman's Website Gets Hacked

Mubasher Lucman, television talk show Host and a columnist having 150,590 followers on twitter and 1511 likes of his Facebook page just got hacked his website http://lucman.net/ again by some one called Jr. r00t. 

Hacker seems to have done it already when I saw his Mubasher's message on his Facebook page. Where he mentioned that his site was hacked by someone however he deleted the account of hacker by his power.

Someone Hacked My Page And Was Posting Something Bad In It Now I Again Taken This Page From That Boy Who Hacked My Page And Through My Power I Deleted His Account?

I think the hacker accepted the challenge to take revenge and in anger he has taken away his website again. Previously when his website was hacked, the hacker used vulgar language. But I have not seen anything showing bad as of now except the following message.
